Hey everyone! Welcome to our Week 11 Challenge for our Back to Basics Class from Stampendous. Click on over to our Back to Basics group to take the lesson and play along.

This week we’re learning all about how to create different backgrounds using stickers and chalks. You’ll never look at the sticker racks again after you realize all the different looks you can make!

I created this card using the Thanks Leaves Class a Peel stickers as a stencil and then spritzed over the cardstock. Once the cardstock was dry, I added some stickers on top. This was such a fun technique and I love the shine and shimmer it gives.

I created this card using the Wise Men stamp and Versamark ink and then used the Poppin’ Pastels technique to apply decorator chalks to the ink with some daubers.

We’ll be having a challenge each week to go along with each lesson. To play along, make a card, scrapbook page or 3D item using the simple stamping technique featured this week. Our featured techniques this week all featured stickers or poppin’ pastels. Tag your photo b2b11 (all lowercase) so that we can pull your project into our gallery. (If you’re new to Paper Craft Planet, here is an excellent tutorial on adding photos to the gallery!)

Well, you guys just THOUGHT I was late with my Sunday afternoon uploads!! LOL. Here we are late Monday night. I’ve once again been without internet service almost all weekend. It’s been soooo frustrating, but I think my problem might be solved! It seems my modem completely died Saturday and has probably been sick for awhile. We got a new one today from the cable company and things seem to be working fine for now. Fingers crossed this takes care of our frequent internet troubles!!

So this week’s sketch was inspired by a little project I’m working on to try to get a headstart on some Christmas and Hanukkah gifts for the grandparents this year. I’ll show you the sketch, then explain:

And remember, all forms of scrapbooking – traditional, digi and hybrid are welcome!! As always, feel free to flip or rotate the sketch or add or remove layers as needed, just as long as the original layout design is recognizable!!

I’m creating keepsake 2010 calendars for all of the grandparents this year for their holiday gifts and I decided to make it easy on myself to just use these fantastic 2010 Large Toppers by Zoe Pearn (Sweet Shoppe). Here’s a look at the Calendar Page Topper I created for June:

The page is all predesigned and I just “slipped” my photo layer under the template layers in photoshop, did some resizing and it was was done! When I print them all up, I’ll add the Calendar “bottoms” in every other page, have it professionally printed and bound (probably spiral bound) and will have a wonderful keepsake gift that all of the grandparents will love. Here’s a look at the Top and Bottom together:

So, as you can see, I actually created my sample first for this week, then “drew” up the sketch later. The sketch is easily converted from 12×12 to 8.5×11. I wanted to show you how easy it is to use these sketch ideas on other projects and gift ideas. Does anyone else have any special scrappy holiday gifts planned for this year? Hello!

I am hosting this week’s 3D Tuesday for Adela. Since so many of us received or bought little Hershey bars for Halloween, I thought a 3D treat holder would be a great project. I used to following materials to cover my Hershey bar:

• white cardstock for body – 3 1/4 x 3 1/2 (wrapped the 3 1/2 inches around Hershey)
• black card for brim of hat – 3/8 x 1 3/8
• black cardstock for top hot – 1″ square
• black cardstock for eyes and buttons – 1/4″ circle punch
• orange cardstock for nose – cut little triangle
• scarf – ribbon (tied around and secured with glue dot)

I hope you can play along, especially since this is such a great little gift idea to give during the holidays. When uploading your photo to PCP, use the tag “3d37” so it will go into the correct album.

This week has been a very sad one as former DT member of i{heart}papers, Sarah Anderson. Sarah’s 3 year old son, Henry, passed away. Little Henry was unable to overcome a virus that made him ill last week. Lorie Ames has organized a way to donate for a memorial for Henry. Henry loved his local zoo and visited it almost every day in the summer. As a memorial to Henry and his love of the zoo, a tree will be planted there in his honor. Melissa at Pink Cat Studio has created a digital stamp to help raise funds for a tree for Henry. All proceeds from the sale of the digi stamp, minus Paypal costs, will go towards the purchase of these trees. If you would like to donate towards the tree, please visit Pink Cat Studio to purchase the digi stamp.

Good Morning Everyone!! Today we are so excited to feature the totally fun and sweet Oscar nominated movie from 2002: My Big Fat Greek Wedding!!!!

This movie was the sleeper hit of the year and it was nominated for best original screenplay. This love story is all about family, love, culture and coming into your own. If you have never seen this movie, or want to see it again – it is in segments on Youtube – just watch it here! We thought it would be fun this week to have the challenge requirement be to make a wedding card inspired by the movie!!

all from the Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly collection.  Here’s a close up of the little guy:

If you’ve ever had a chance to play with digital stamps, they are really a lot of fun.  I print directly on cardstock and then spray with a matte sealer to make sure that my Copics don’t run the printer ink.  If you wanted to resize your image, you could do that right in your image editing program.  Wouldn’t this guy be adorable on a children’s t-shirt?
