Today Paper Craft Planet has a really fun game to play. The Super Novas all got together and played with the new Flower Soft Snow Globe CD. OMG — it was SO much fun! I got completely carried away! I’m so excited to share this project with you…. and you can play along and win a prize by participating in a scavenger hunt! Keep reading for instructions on how you can win!

How cute is this?! It’s off the Snow Globe CD — you just print it and cut it out and insert the display globe! I used some Tim Holtz distress ink in straw to create the yellow background and the rest was just glue and fill! I love feeling like I made something fantastic, but really it took me 10 minutes. Hee Hee.

Here is the inside. I made this cute pocket to hold a packet of cocoa. I added another Flower Soft snowman to complete the card. It makes me smile just to look at it.

Hey everyone! Today’s sketch challenge is pretty straight forward. We’re making a square chard this week with a center medallion that is NOT square. I used my sketch to create a stash of sympathy cards, but this sketch is versatile enough to use for birthdays or holidays or whatever. I can’t wait to see your “take” on this!

Here is my card:

The sentiment is an Eskimo saying that I saw on a stamp set somewhere (can’t remember). I used my computer to print several of them and then just cut it out with Nestabilities. The patterned paper is retired SU.

I used a Versamark pen to highlight the debossed edge and to create a false mat near the edge. Truthfully, you can make this card in about 15 minutes. You have to like a quick card

The project I’ll show you today, is an easy home decorating idea OR a gift for a friend, teacher or co-worker. They are so easy that you may want to make several!

This project took only 30 minutes to make. I picked up these small black frames for under $1.00 each. I applied Silver Alcohol ink and blending solution to the frames to dress up the plain black. The letters are Zva Self Adhesive Crystals that can be found at i {heart} papers (IHP). I applied each letter onto a piece of black glossy cardstock and then those pieces were attached to pieces of Laser Glossy Luster White cardstock which was cut using Rectangle Nestabilities. Each letter was then attached to the back of the frame using i {stick} paper Red Line tape.

These add an elegant holiday addition to a shelf or mantle piece to any home.

I have a Suuuuuper easy project to share with you today – it’s an extremely quick and simple gift card holder! I love to make up several of these this time of year to have on hand for those last minute gifts or hard-to-shop for family and friends!! You can see the outside of the gift card holder above. Here’s a look at the inside, with the “belly band” removed:

To make this gift card holder, cut a piece of cardstock to 6 3/4 x 4 1/4. Then score along the 6 3/4 side at 1 1/2 and 4 1/2. Simply fold along the score lines, then use a couple of brads to hold the smaller “flap” to the center, forming a pocket for your gift card (see photo above). The larger “flap” folds over to form the top. You can decorate the front of the holder and use ribbon, velcro, a pretty button and twine or make a fun belly band like I did to hold the holder closed.

I have a quick and easy project idea to share with you today. It’s a pocket card treat holder, made from one half of a piece of cardstock, plus some designer paper for an accent. I simply scored the red cardstock at 5 ½” (the half way mark), then made another score 2″ from one end. I folded the paper in half, then folded the second scored section back to make a flap. For a nice detail, I used a corner rounder to round the edges of the paper.

I cut some My Mind’s Eye designer paper to line the inside of the pocket and to cover the front, too. I stamped the frame and sentiment from the Cup of Cocoa stamp set from Clear & Simple Stamps on the flap, then secured the flap with a pair of copper brads.

To fill the treat pocket, I made some chocolate covered stirring spoons, perfect for dipping in to coffee for an extra sweet treat. These are so easy to make—and believe me, if I can do them without disaster, it’s true! All you need to do is melt some chocolate melts in the microwave (in a microwave safe dish, please!) and stir in 1 teaspoon of shortening to smooth out the chocolate once it’s melted. Dip your spoons in the melted chocolate to coat them, then set them on a wax paper covered baking sheet to set. I used some sturdy clear plastic spoons I picked up at the grocery store, but you can color coordinate the spoons with your packaging or use real ones for a more substantial gift. If you want, you can smash up some candies and drizzle these over the top, or get even fancier by drizzling some contrasting melted white chocolate over the spoons. I went with some Starlight mints for a festive look. Once the chocolate had set, I placed the spoons in a clear plastic bag, tied with a bow, and put them in my treat pocket.

I created this card because we’ve had a lot of snow here and my kids will soon be outside with their sleds and playing in the snow. Here in northern Vermont, our winters are long. Cards like this are great to give for 6 months out of the year here. haha!

I chose to go with watercolor paper and use my ink pads as my paint source by squishing the lids of my ink pads against the ink pad itself. A little drop of water is all it takes to make your own watercolor paint. I find that watercolor paper works best as it doesn’t pill and holds up well to working with watery paint.

My day was 8 Maids a Milking, and my project is a fun and easy gift. A simple glass jar purchased at any store, I grabbed mine at the grocery store. I added some Merry & Bright Rub-Ons on the jar as well as on the tag, filled it with yummy Malted “Milk” Balls and it is ready to be given to a special friend.

Top it off with a bow and a fun punched tag with a Rub-On greeting.

I found this lunchbox in the $1 aisle in Target a long time ago and thought it would make a fun ornament to hang up.
