I’m pleased to be hosting the Saturday Sketch Challenge on Paper Craft Planet this week.

It would make me happy if you would like to join us in the Sketch Challenge Group on PCP. Just create a card, scrapbook page, 3D project…whatever using this sketch for inspiration.

To help get your motivated, I wanted to share my card based on this sketch.

This adorable little bunny is from Waltzingmouse Stamps’ L’il Buddies stamp set. After adding a few grey highlights on the bunny, I masked off the image and used my Copic airbrush to paint the very light blue background.

Poofy Flowers – 3d54

Hello all!

I am hosting the 3-D Tuesday challenge this week at Paper Craft Planet, and I hope you’ll like what I’ve chosen to do today! Everywhere you look lately you see these awesome paper flowers on cards and boxes. My friend Barbara Anders calls them “poofy flowers” and I think that’s a good term to use! So today I challenge you to try a poofy flower!

I found the flower and tutorial that Mercy Kerin included on her blog back in January to be fabulous, so that’s the poofy flower I am using today. I know there are other stampers out there who have their own versions of a poofy flower, so feel free to use whatever you’d like.

The challenge is just to make a flower. And since this is a 3-D challenge, you get bonus points if you combine your flower with a box of some kind, like I did here with this clear pillow box and these YUMMY candy-covered chocolate eggs from Hershey’s. Oh my heck, these things are good!

I made my flower using papers from the new Basic Grey Kioshi collection, which you can get from Kate at i {heart} papers. I also sprayed my flower very liberally with Pssst! Shimmer Spray from Tsukineko, which Kate also has at IHP!

Here’s a close-up, but unfortunately because I can’t take a decent picture to save my life, you can’t see the sparkle but trust me, it’s there! The sentiment I used on my tag is another stamp from one of Anna Wight’s new cling sets at Whipper Snapper called Happy Thoughts! I hope you’ll give the challenge a try! Upload your creation to the gallery at Paper Craft Planet and tag your photo using 3d54 so everywhere can see your entry! I’ll create an album for all the photos later tonight or Wednesday, and if you don’t use that tag I won’t be able to find your poofy flower!

Sketch Challenge — with a prize!

Its time for another sketch at Paper Craft Planet! Today Whimsie Doodles is sponsoring our Sketch Challenge. Play along and you could win a prize!

Here is my card using one of Whimsie Doodles digital sets “Paws I Care”. Every penny of profit from this set goes to support the SPCA. I thought these images were perfect for paper piecing. To create the dog, print the image 4 times on dk brown, 1 on light brown cardstock, 1 on red cardstock and 1 on white cardstock. This will give you enough images to cut all the pieces and layer them high.

Sketch Challenge – sk031310

I had so much fun doing this week’s sketch. It was modeled after this card by Taylor VanBruggen.

For the record, I’m doing the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace course. I’m all about the budget right now. I used the new Chicken Girl digi stamps from i{heart}papers. There is nothing like the instant gratification of downloadable stamps. Sigh. Makes me feel a little budget guilty… but it doesn’t last. Digi stamps are cheap, resizeable and you have them forever in every size. Makes them almost perfect.

I printed this cute little bunny on my Neenah paper from Paper Temptress. I colored it with my Copics (from i{heart}papers) and put it together with some older SU papers that I had in my stash.

I did one more card, just for fun, using all supplies that I had on hand.
